Happy New Year!
I hope your party was a success. We had a really good time here. Everyone was more relaxed than usual because New Year fell at the weekend. On Saturday morning (December 31st), we drove to Scarborough, which is a seaside resort in Yorkshire, to visit our friends who live there. We arrived at Andrew and Julie's house at lunchtime, unpacked and had a chat with them. Then at 7:30 we all walked to a restaurant which is very near their house to have dinner. Late at night we went back to the house, played some music and danced. We danced in the living room, in the kitchen and even in the garden! At midnight, we joined hands and sang a traditional song called "Auld Lang Syne". We danced again and went to bed at about 4.30. on New Year's Day, we all got up late. It was a beautiful day, so in the afternoon we went for a walk by the sea. We were having such a good
time that we decided to stay for an extra day. Write soon and tell me about your New Year.
