In my opinion I think best friends should have adleast one thing in common but it is not Nesesary. If you have similar interests it would be much more fun to talk to that person instead of not having any topics to discuss.With your best friend there are many places you can go to as well, if you both have the same interests they will probably agree with going with you and if they don't have the same interested there is a higher chance of them not agreeing to come with you.
