JIMMY'S BLOG-A VICTIM OR A CRIMINAL? I've never been a victim of any crime, buti (1) have been/ was/ had been a witness of one last week. I (2) was doing / did / have done shopping in our local supermarket when I noticed a girl who was hiding some food under her jacket. I didn't really know what to do. A few seconds later, a security guard came shouting and (3) has caught/ had caught/ caught her. She was later arrested for (4) robbery shoplifting/ theft, but she didn't go to prison because she is only 15 years old. I know she (5) broke/ committed/ stole a crime, but I also know she's not a real (6) burglar / criminal/robber, just someone who is going through a hard time. It really made me think. I suppose some people (7) can't/ are able to could feel ashamed of their poverty. Shouldn't members of a community help (8) ourselves / themselves / each other? Don't we have (9) a duty/ duty/ the duty to notice people who might need our help? I've just volunteered to take part in a mentoring program -1(10) am going to help/helped / was helping a few kids from my area do their homework and study. What is your opinion? Should we help - if we can- or not?
