Badminton has been a popular game for a very long time.
People in Europe and Asia played older versions of the game
about two thousand years ago. The modern sport was invented
in India about 150 years ago. Now, it has become the second
most played sport in the world, after football.
Like tennis, badminton is played on a court with a net in the
middle. However, a badminton court is smaller than a tennis
court, it is indoors and the net is higher.
The players have rackets - like tennis rackets but smaller. They
use their rackets to hit a shuttlecock over the net. A shuttlecock
is like half a ball with feathers around the top. The players
score points by making the shuttlecock hit the ground on their
opponent's side of the net. The first player to score 21 points
wins the game.
Players can only hit the shuttlecock once before it hits the ground
or goes over the net. If a player hits the shuttlecock into the net
or outside the lines on the court, their opponent gets a point.

spodoba. Nie wiem, czy wiesz, ale jest to
najpopularniejsza
gra na świecie. Grają w nią miliony ludzi!
